The biggest rumor ever: "Wiped off the map".
You remember that game we used to play waaay back in the day? You know the one, I don't remember the name, but I do remember the premise. The first person in a line starts with a sentence, then whispers it in the next person's ear, and so on and so forth.
Well, this is kind of like that. Except with different languages. Oh yeah, and Adults.
Apparently, That CAH-RAZY Mahmoud Ahmadinejad never uttered the phrase "wiped off the map", never even said 'map', 'wiped off', or Israel.
So, what did he say?
He actually quoted the late Ayatollah Khomenei, and said,
"Imam ghoft een rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad."
or the English translation,
"The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time."
Quite different when you think that 1.) The newly-elected president was quoting someone else's viewpoint, and 2.) He wasn't even close to insinuating that they bomb Israel (America's Bestest Buds), but rather that an entire regime be forgotten about.
Hmm...Kind of makes you think what kind of people would want us to think that the CRAZY Leader over there with hundreds of bombs would like to nuke Israel to the ground, and then not tell us the real truth about a mistranslation?
