Krugman: U.S. gov't is dangerously dysfunctional
The Shrill One: "the Senate — and, therefore, the U.S. government as a whole — has become ominously dysfunctional."
Unless some legislator pulls off a last-minute double-cross, health care reform will pass the Senate this week. Count me among those who consider this an awesome achievement. It’s a seriously flawed bill, we’ll spend years if not decades fixing it, but it’s nonetheless a huge step forward.
It was, however, a close-run thing. And the fact that it was such a close thing shows that the Senate — and, therefore, the U.S. government as a whole — has become ominously dysfunctional.
McCain was such a JERK to Palin! Choosing her for VP was just CRUEL!

I can understand why Sarah is pissed off at McCain and all of his former campaign staff!
They practically ruined her whole life; just think how different things would be for her now if McCain had chosen someone else...

Obamarama wiped McCain out with money.
NOTE: This article was written by Karl Rove, so take it however you will.
It looks like Obama spent about $250,000,000.00 more than McCain on this election. If this number is found to be accurate, it would be the biggest gap in spending between two candidates ever. Really, it's not terribly surprising that the winner of the election spent more money; we watch a lot of TV collectively as a country. McCain was right when he said that Obama was a celebrity. He worked the TV shows and the ads pretty well, I think.
Anyway, the real problem, according to Karl, is that Obama accepted donations from untraceable sources:
But that's not the entire story. It's been reported that the Obama campaign accepted donations from untraceable, pre-paid debit cards used by Daffy Duck, Bart Simpson, Family Guy, King Kong and other questionable characters. If the FEC follows up with a report on this, it should make for interesting reading.
Karl doesn't seem bitter at all though.
2 more seats for a filibuster-proof Senate majority
Doggonit.... say it aint so, Joe!

Poor ol' Joe, once again, finds himself in trouble for bashing Democrats.... only to find Democrats victorious in the end.
This time, he says, if they take away his Chairmanship ... he'll bolt the party and join the Republicans!
OH GOD NO, SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE!
Does anyone really think Lieberman would rather bolt to the minority party, rather than accept Chairmanship of another committee or subcommittee? It isn't like the minority can offer him any kind of chairmanship at all. Plus, he would be sealing his electoral defeat in 2012 to the next Democratic nominee - and wouldn't exactly fit in with the socially conservative Republican caucus very well. They aren't exactly tolerant of, well, anyone else.
"Elections have consequences", I think, is what the GOP used to say in 2004 to any Democratic objections...
UPDATE
Senate Democrats vote for Lieberman to keep his committee chairmanship. This should've been obvious given their track record. I keep forgetting that Senate Democrats don't have spines.
